Reading, RG5 4LY This venue is upstairs from the meeting room used by the Club for its Thursday evening meetings. Haddon Drive is reached via Butts Hill Road, Woodley.

The Course Fee is £50, inclusive of Exam fee of £22.50 and the Course Manual.
Places should be reserved by posting a deposit of £10, payable to RADARC, and completion of the application form available on the RADARC website or sent with this sheet.
Course commences; Friday, 24th September, 2010 at 19.30 hrs.
You should bring sandwiches for lunch on Saturday, 25th September. Drinks are provided. Your Application Form must be with Eric Curling by Wednesday 15th September and your Balance of Fees paid to meet the RSGBs Exam deadline. You must bring a photographic identity card such as a passport to the exam.

20.30 hrs Technical Basics. Followed by Sample questions
Saturday 25th Sept. 09.30 hrs. Transmitters and Receivers. Followed by sample questions
10.30 hrs. Antennas and Feeders. Followed by sample questions
11.30 hrs. How to make contacts on the Air. (Operating Procedures). Followed by sample exam questions.
12.30 hrs Demo of HF contacts. Practical training on the Air.
14.00 hrs Propagation. Followed by sample questions.
15.00 hrs Electromagnetic Compatibility followed by sample exam questions
16.00 hrs. Licence Conditions.
16.45 hrs What Radio to buy. What Antenna to use.
Friday 1st Oct
19.30 hrs Safety in the Shack Sample questions
20.30 hrs Revision for the Examination, with real questions.
Saturday 2nd Oct 09.30 hrs. Revision for the Examination.
10.30 hrs. The Foundation Licence Examination. .
(25 questions, duration 45 minutes under strict conditions).
11.15 hrs The Morse Code and how to send it.
12.00 hrs Announcement of Results.
Presentation of Certificates and how to secure your LicenceFor the duration of the Course you will become a member of RADARC and you will have free membership till 31st December 2010.
