Eric 2001 Christian Aid Charity Walk - G3PGM - Eric's Shack 1963
Christian Aid Walk 2001 - he worked hard that day.
Eric G3PGM a friend and honorary member of the club lost his fight for life in 2002. Members and friends of Eric filled the funeral service to say goodbye to a True Radio Amateur who dedicated his hobby to helping others while enjoying all sections of it.
I only knew Eric for the past 4-5 years and during my morning drives to the office his chat and stories made the journey better. A long chat one Saturday morning Eric let slip that his past would make an interesting story and could I scan some old B&W photos for him. I happy agreed and next meeting Eric past them over and told me that the photos where of him when he work on a 1960's Pirate Radio Station. This interested me greatly and we talked more about an article for the club magazine. Eric presented the document and with the photos we opened up some cupboards & changed some of the History of Pirate Radio.
Eric produced many articles of his memories for the newsletter and supported the club on trips, contests, Christian Aid walks and junksales. He will be missed by me and some feelings are below.
