Can you assist Norman M0JEC
Norman helps to run the Hospital Radio service at the Royal Berkshire Hospital (Hospital Radio Reading - HRR) with the HBA (Hospital Broadcasting Association) which is a charity supporting and training for Hospital Radio volunteers.
As it's their 85th Anniversary (54th in Reading) and Norman would like the club members support to put on a special event station locally with members of the club.
From Norman:-
Here is where you maybe able to help, I'm aiming to have a Special Event Station for HRR, and need volunteers not only to help setup & run said station but potentially someone who might like to host said station, either at their shack or some other venue. The reason for this is the HRR studios are not ideal for our type of Radio, high background noise, and problems with getting a good antenna system erected just for starters. If you feel you can offer any help, from sitting behind a mic / key calling CQ, up to offering your shack for some or all of the 2 weeks (remember that as a "special event" station it must be accessible to "members of the public" to have a look at the station during times of operating should they desire - this quite often means another Amateur turning up to have a go on the station accompanied by some friends) If you feel you can help please e-mail me and I'll add your name to my list.
