READING INTERNATIONAL RADIO GROUP
This page supported by RADARC for the Enthusiast
Who are we? A group of international radio listeners who have been meeting in Reading since 1976.
We enjoy listening to broadcasters from around the world on shortwave, medium wave, FM and are now embracing the new technologies of the internet and digital transmissions.
We also enjoy the challenge of DXing, that is receiving low power and/or distant broadcasting stations.
READING INTERNATIONAL RADIO GROUP
NEW VENUE These meetings are an opportunity for UK international radio listeners
to meet together. They have been held regularly since 1976 and are still proving
to be very popular.
The next meeting
of the Reading International Radio Group will be on Saturday February 27 in Room
3, Reading International Solidarity Centre, 35-39 London Street, Reading at 2.30
p.m.
The meeting will look at German propaganda broadcasting to the UK in the Second
World War, how this was monitored as well as Luxembourg's role in broadcasting
propaganda from both sides and the BBC's broadcasting to Germany. This will
include audio material from the recently released BBC Archives collection. We
will also finish looking at the history of radio commercials in the UK as well
as other current and historical radio related items and audio extracts.
All are welcome. For more information email me or phone 01462 643899.
