1. Introduction to Amateur Radio.           What is Amateur Radio         

2. Technical Basics                                                                                                                   

3. Transmitters and Receivers.

4. Antennas and Feeders.

5. Propagation of Radio Signals.

6. Electromagnetic Compatibility. ( Avoiding Interference).

7. Operating Practices and Procedures. Including live radio contacts.

8. Foundation Licence Conditions.

9. Safety in the Shack.

10. Familiarisation with the Morse Code.

A demonstration Amateur Radio Station.

The Examination. This is the formally invigilated and is subject to inspection by OFCOM.

Results will be given at the end of the course. If you have passed, you may apply for an M3 licence straight away. Don't forget this is the first step in your radio career. Later on, the Intermediate Licence and the Advanced Licence will confer more privileges

You may join the Reading and District Amateur Radio Club free for one year, so that you can continue your self-training in radio among friends.

We hope to accommodate 16 students & dependant on room hire/size. First come, first served!
